Section 3 - Market Watch – contains the symbol list and all quotes (bid and ask). It can be opened by selecting ‘View’ market watch or by pressing Ctrl + M. This box allows clients to place market and pending orders as well as open new charts. Clients can right click on a symbol to bring up a menu with several commands:
- New Order – Clients can open the new order window allowing the client to place a market or pending order for the highlighted symbol. It is also possible to bring up the new order window by double clicking on the appropriate symbol.
- Chart Windom – This option will bring up the chart for the particular symbol.
- Tick Chart – By selecting this option, the tick chart for the selected symbol will be brought up. You can also drag a symbol into the chart area to view the relevant graph.
- Depth of Market – This selection will show the depth of market for a trading symbol allowing for easy and quick management of trading.
- Hide – Right clicking on a symbol and selecting hide will remove it from the market watch window.
- Hide All – Selecting hide all will remove all symbols from the market watch window.
- Show All – Selecting show all will make all the trading symbols appear including conversion symbols which are in orange. Please note that these orange conversion symbols cannot be traded so we advise you to remove this from the market watch window using 5 above.
- Symbols – This option will bring up a separate symbols window that will allow the client to add or remove symbols form the market watch window.
- Sets – This option allows clients to save the set of symbols present in the market watch window.
- High/Low – This will add the high and low for the day for each symbol.
- Time – This will show the time of the last incoming quote.
- Auto Arrange – When ticked, this selection will automatically rearrange the the columns when the window size is altered.
- Grid – This selection will add or remove the grids that separate the columns.
- Popup Prices – This selection will open up a new window showing quotes for the symbols present in the market watch window.
